In 2007, CATR and NEC signed a memorandum on wireless communications technology, SDP and the Internet service model, which identified as areas of the two sides cooperation, and to identify two cooperation forms.

In order to implement the details of the cooperation memorandum, CATR and NEC Corporation have been identified to hold the workshop in the February 20, 2008, Beijing. Some experts from CATR and NEC would discuss on the Mobile Internet (services, business models, etc.), Broadband Internet (services, business models, etc.), SDP and Broadband Wireless Access Technology.
